The G-Forum allows all Gimi/Gess users to participate in moderated discussions.
Sent messages are transmitted via the G-Forum to all subscribers.
How can I join one of the ongoing discussions ?
G-Forum has several discussion lists on themes related to microinsurance and the extension of social protection. You can consult the lists of current discussions on the G-Forum home page.
How can I suggest a new discussion list topic?
You can suggest a new discussion topic by e-mailing (gimi@ilo.org) or by clicking on «Suggest a discussion» in the G-forum menu on the right.
How do I subscribe to a list?
In order to subscribe to a list, you need to sign in to Gimi / Gess first.
How do I send a message ?
To send a new message that will be sent to the subscribers of the discussion list you have three options:
Depending on whether it is a public or private discussion list, your message will be sent to the lists moderator and subscribers. If your message is not accepted by the moderator, you will receive a refusal notification. Please note that the time it takes to receive a notification can vary.
How do I consult the archives ?
To consult discussion messages, you have two options:
How can I unsubscribe ?
In order to unsubscribe to a discussion list:
Send a message to the address of the list (the name followed by @step.ilo.org) from the email address with which you are subscribed to G-Forum notifying your unsubscription to the discussion.
Your can also unsubscribe through the Gimi or Gess websites:
Please note: You must repeat these steps for each list from which you wish to unsubscribe.

- Then, go to the G-Forum home page, select a discussion you are intersted in and click on the discussion name.
- Click on Subscribe.
How do I send a message ?
To send a new message that will be sent to the subscribers of the discussion list you have three options:
- Respond to one of the messages of the discussion you received
- Send a message to the address of the discussion. This address is comprised of the name of the list followed by @step.ilo.org (example: extension@step.ilo.org)
- Go to the G-Forum home page, click on the discussion name you wish to send a message to and click on the link Send a message in the menu above

- Once you are signed in, go to the G-Forum home page.
- Go to the information page of the list from which you wish to unsubscribe
- In the top menu, click on Unsubscribe
